Bakirkoy is a district in the province of Istanbul. The area is quite famous and popular, well suited for shopping and business, has several attractions and a rich history.
One of the distinguishing features of the Bakirkoy area is the combination of modern and historical parts of the city. The area has a rich history, but it cannot be called an exclusively tourist part of the city. This is the commercial area of the city with a well developed infrastructure. There are cinemas, several shopping and business centres.
The Bakirkoy district is located near the centre of Istanbul in the southeastern part of the city. This residential area is divided into 4 microdistricts:
- Emilyurt,
- Eshilkoy,
- Attackoy,
- Floria.
Located on the European side of Istanbul, Bakirkoy is a long coastline on the Marmara Sea, which undoubtedly contributes to the mild climate and natural beauty, making it a comfortable place to spend time and live.
As for the infrastructure of the area, it offers several interesting sights - the Fildama Sarniji cistern, the Yunus Emre cultural center in Artaköy in the 17th century building, the Greek church (1832), the central mosque with a fountain.
Also, the Bakirkoy area has access to the sea and here you can always sit on the embankment and enjoy the oncoming waves. In summer, a beach holiday is also possible, but more sunbathing than swimming. If you wish, you can go on a yacht.
The area is quite green and cozy, you can always find quiet places in nature and hide from the noisy city.
