Bring your pet to Turkey

Bringing pets into Turkey

You are allowed to bring one pet dog, cat or bird into Turkey providing you have the correct paperwork.  It will need to have had the specified vaccinations and an International Health Certificate must be issued no longer than 15 days prior to flying.  Your pet will also need a Pet passport or identification card and a written statement from an accredited vet that is no more than 3 months old.  If all specifications are met then your pet will not have to undergo any period of quarantine after arriving in Turkey.

There are a large number of companies that specialise in animal transportation in the UK, they will advise you of all the necessary requirements and issue all the correct paperwork needed to transport your pet and you may find that many airlines will only deal with approved animal transportation agents.

You will also need to find out what vaccinations are required and the time scale from having these vaccinations before transportation

It is well worth doing your homework first before deciding to bring your pet to Turkey, check which airlines allow animals to be flown as not all do and you may need to find alternative ways to transport your pet, for example, by road.
