It is established on a small peninsula where the Mediterranean Sea is located in the south of the Taurus Mountains in the North of Alanya. The distance to Antalya city centre is 132 kilometers, the main highway between Antalya and Alanya passes through many residential and tourism places.
There are public buses every 10 minutes on the Alantur, Otoger-Transportation. Alanya is located on Turkey’s southern coast and has a small half-island shape 1598.51 square kilometres of coastal areas in the Mediterranean area and in terms of strategic location. The characteristics of the Mediterranean climate are observed, it is warm in the winter and hot in the summer. The average annual air temperature is 19°C and sea water temperature is 21°C. There is the magnificent 13th Century Seljuk Castle built like a crown overlooking the Alanya Penninsula. In addition to the castle, the unique shipyard and the monumental octagonal red tower are other sites worth visiting. The harbour is surrounded by cafes and bars along with boutiques that sell handicrafts, leather, clothes, jewellery, handbags and gourds decorated in the colours that appertain to the region along the port road in the evenings.
Other places of interest to visit in this area are the Damla Stone Cave and Ethnography Museum which is located near the cave. There are three caves that can be visited by boat; Phosphorous Cave with its phosphorescent rocks, Kizlar Cave, where the pirates kept their female prisoners and Lovers Cave. If you travel 15 kilometers east of the city you will find Dim Stream Valley which is an ideal place to relax in the coolness of the shadows.
